After all the rain of the past weeks it was lovely to be up at the paddock at 7am with the sun rising and the skylarks singing. The moles were also enjoying the paddock and we will have to think about how we can discourage them from inhabiting the paddock. Although I can understand that it is an ideal and safe place to burrow underground.

A big thank you to all paddock users who have continued to use the paddock despite the rain and wind of the last months and a particular thanks to your diligence, the poo situation has improved no end and there are far fewer stray poos than in the past.

Our canine friends do enjoy digging and I have started to fill in the holes, grabbing a spade and carting soil with my wheelbarrow. The “canine exploratorium” is there for the ‘diggers’ and in the next weeks we will improve it with logs, soft soil and a few other features. It would be great if this could be the place where digging takes place rather than the main paddock.
