The paddock comprises of 3 acres of grassland with wild flowers for your dogs to run and enjoy. The fencing around the perimeter is 1.8m high. When you hire the paddock you have exclusive use.

There is an earth mound which crosses the paddock. This is part of the historic Park Pale, constructed in the 12th century, which at one time enclosed the whole of the Ashdown House estate.

Please note:

  • Car access to the paddock is NOT possible – You will need to walk about 200 metres along a bridleway to reach the paddock.
  • There may be horses in the adjacent paddock.
  • We let the grasses and wild flowers grow to create a biodiverse and interesting environment. The grass in the lower section of the paddock is shorter.
  • We have a water bowl for your dogs to use and water canisters in the field shelter.
  • The ground is uneven and there may be holes from burrowing animals. Please take care.
  • There is a field shelter and picnic bench for you to use. Please do not light a fire.
  • As with any open grassland there may be ticks present. Please ensure that your dog has been treated and be sure to check for ticks after your visit.
