Your Booking
- Your booking is for one or more one hour time slots starting on the full hour. Your booking includes a 5 minute change over time at the end of your booked time when you will be required to vacate Ashdown Paddock so that the next booking can enter on time.
- If you are booking the paddock on behalf of someone else then you continue to be the contracting party and responsible for ensuring that the terms and conditions are adhered to.
- If you are unable to attend your booked slot please contact us and we will endeavour to assist you with rebooking your appointment. We do not issue refunds or make re bookings if your cancellation is due to adverse weather conditions.
Your Dogs
- Please do not bring dogs you do not know – this is for your own safety.
- If your dog is ill or has been ill within the last 48 hours of your session time, please cancel your session and re-book it as required. Please send us an email or call and we will help with the re-booking.
- All dogs must be micro chipped.
- All dogs using the field must be wormed and have all their vaccinations up to date.
- We suggest that dogs are protected against ticks.
- Before using the facility or any equipment within it, it is your responsibility to confirm with your vet that your dog(s) is/are physically fit and strong enough to perform any activities in the Ashdown Paddock.
The Paddock
- The paddock is fenced with 1.8 m deer fencing all around which we inspect regularly. There is rabbit fencing dug into the ground however the possibility for small gaps is there. We therefore we do not guarantee that the paddock is 100% secure. If you have dogs that burrow, are not obedient or are very small then we recommend not to book Ashdown Paddock.
- There is a water bowl for your dog to use. Please cover / empty the bowl if you are concerned about your dog drinking from a bowl which has been used by other dogs. The water is supplied on a ‘best efforts’ basis and is not part of the contracted service.
- For biodiversity Ashdown Paddock has been planted with wild flowers and grasses and is NOT a pure green grass field. You should not book if you require a short grass area to exercise your dogs.
- The surface of Ashdown Paddock is uneven and includes an ancient earthworks (mound). You need to wear appropriate footwear and take care when walking to avoid tripping or slipping.
- There are wild animals including field mice and rabbits that burrow and may disturb the earth. This means that there may be holes and burrows in places. Some dogs may also have dug holes although we discourage this. You need to take care when walking.
- Some of the plants and grasses growing in Ashdown Paddock may have thorns, be inedible, contain pollen which causes allergies. If this concerns you you should not book Ashdown Paddock.
- We do not use artificial fertiliser, pesticides or herbicides in the maintenance of Ashdown Paddock.
Arrival and Departure
- Car parking is allowed only in the lay-by on the main road. (The track to Ashdown Paddock is a bridleway and may not be used by vehicles other than agricultural access).
- The large gate between the main road and the track must not be opened. Please use the side gate.
- The gate leading into Ashdown Paddock must be closed upon entry/exit for safety reasons.
- Dogs must be kept on leads until safely inside Ashdown Paddock and the gate closed.
- Please leave the Ashdown Paddock 5 minutes before the full hour and end of your session.
- You must lock Ashdown Paddock with the combination lock when leaving.
Whilst in the Paddock
- You must accompany and supervise your dog at all times so that you are aware of what you pet is doing and that they are safe.
- All dog excrement must be picked up by you using bags and then placed in the dog waste bin.
- Owners must take all reasonable steps to prevent dogs from digging in the paddock. Holes damage the grass area and could be tripping hazards for other paddock users.
- You are welcome to use the field shelter and picnic bench – please take all litter home. Please do not light fires.
- Children must be supervised by you at all times and must not play on the dog exercise equipment.

- Each dog must have one handler. No more because you must be able to observe the dog at all times. If more than one dog is brought from one household then each dog requires one handler if an XL Bully is one of the dogs.
- The dog is neutered in line with Government regulations.
- The dog is kept on a lead and muzzled until in Ashdown Paddock and the gate securely closed and the padlock fastened to ensure no-one can enter by accident.
