If your dog is the sort that loves a good dig, we’ve got some news. We’ve started work on an upgrade to the Dog Exploratorium in Ashdown Paddock — and it involves shifting a whopping 15 tons of topsoil into the digging zone.

The plan is simple: take all that lovely soil from the top of the track and move it into the Exploratorium to create a special area where dogs can dig to their heart’s content, without leaving craters across the main walking field.

It’s not a fast job, mind you. With only a small trailer and trusty wheelbarrows to hand, it’s a bit of a slow and steady operation but we’ve made a solid start and more topsoil will be added in the coming weeks.

We hope this dedicated digging spot will be a real hit, giving all our four-legged friends a safe and satisfying space to scratch, snuffle and scatter to their delight.

So, if you’re out and about in Ashdown Paddock, do take a peek at the work in progress — and we hope your dogs enjoy the new and improved Exploratorium as much as we’ve enjoyed preparing it.
